Koru, Kenya

Koru is a village in Nyando District, Nyanza Province, Kenya. It forms an electoral ward of Muhoroni Constituency and Muhoroni town council [1]. Koru is also a location in the Muhoroni division of Nyando District [2]. Elevation 1540m.

Transport

It is served by a station on a lightly built branchline of the national railway system. In 2009, this branchline is to be upgraded.[3]. Koru is located between the stations of Muhoroni and Fort Ternan [4].

Paleontology

The first fossil remains of Proconsul, primate species were found from Koru in 1909 by a gold prospector.
